We are still here

Guess who's back, back, back.... Pender's back!

But don't call it a comeback, we've been here for years!

We have been internetless at home for the past 3 weeks and therefore unable to blog. But we are back up and running and ready to re-join the blogging world. Be sure to check back real soon for an update of what was Fall 2009.

Go Vols!!

I took Hayden to the UT vs UCLA football game last Saturday. We had a blast, but I think a little background information would help set the picture for the day. I am coaching Elly's soccer team this year and last Saturday was our first game. We played the game from 11:30 to 12:30. Immediately after the game, Hayden and I left to go get lunch and head to the game with kick off slated for 4:00. We did not have tickets so we head over to the stadium to begin my favorite hobby, scalping tickets!!! (by the way we got great seats for 1/2 price!!!) It is now 1 1/2 hours before kickoff, we have gotten tickets, and Hayden has to go pee, RIGHT NOW!! The problem for us... the closest bathrooms are in the stadium. So, it forces Daddy's hand into going into the stadium much earlier than he wanted to take a 3 year old!

So we enter the stadium, we potty, we find our seats, we go for a walk, we buy popcorn and Sprite, we go back to our seats, we watch the pre-game, we see kickoff, we fall asleep!! Yes, not even 4 minuntes into the game Hayden is asleep and sleeps until almost half-time. When he wakes up, we go for a walk, we buy a pretzel and water, we watch the 3rd quater, we sneak down lower and watch the fourth quater, we give up on Vols and leave with 1 min left to beat the traffic!!

Pre-game (waaaaay before kick-off), but still proud to be wearing my new Eric Berry jersey!!!

Seat Snob!! Hayden would not sit with Daddy because I did not scalp tickets from people that had chair backs!!

Sleeping through the 1st and 2nd quaters.

"Sleep Over" or just a "Stay Over"

We had the honor and joy of having our sweet friend Anabel spend the night with us last week. What we did not know (and what we think was purposefully left out) was Ms. Anabel had taken a nap, a very late afternoon nap. The following timeline and pictures pick up the evening after the sun went down and the girls got going!!
9:00 PM - Hannah Montana movie and popcorn
10:00 PM - Making beaded necklaces

11:00 PM - Dancing to Hannah Montana movie (again)

12:00 (Midnight) - Finally picking out books for bedtime!!
Note to self and lesson learned: Next time when your daughter wants a friend to spend the night, interrogate her parents in greater detail concerning her sleeping schedule for that day.

No Blood, No Foul.... Well.....

Elly, Hayden and I decided to have one of our nightly wrestling matches. Usually most matches end without any serious injuries however one night last week Elly was not so lucky. Here is a brief recap of the match.

After dominating his 2 small children for the majority of the match, Elly and Hayden finally got the upperhand by improvising with the use of a blanket. While working together, the 2 young wrestlers were able to over power their more powerful and experienced opponent and take him to the ground. Elly looped around from behind and wrapped her nemesis in a blanket enclosing his arms. Hayden with his, "War Cry" came screaming around the corner to drop his patented knee to the spleen jump kick. While their father was lying helpless prone and wrapped in a blanket, the Elly tackle and Hayden jumping knee kick ended just as quick with an inadvertent headbutt from Hayden to Elly's nose!! (ouch)

After checking for any injury that would require a co-pay, sorrow quickly turned to PRIDE. This was Elly's first, non-booger picking nose bleed. We just had to get a picture to document the event and to scare mommy with a quick text picture to her at work!! Everyone is ok, including Hayden's forehead, so feel free to look upon the picture with laughter not tears!!

Editor's Note: Ignore the empty pizza box in the background. We do, well sometimes do, eat healthier when mommy is not there!!

"No Girls Allowed"

"No Girls Allowed" was the theme and repeated often last Friday night as Hayden and I spent some time without the ladies. Allowing Hayden to pick the adventure, he chose dinner at Salsaritas and to go see Ice Age. The following are highlights of the evening:

- The evening began with someone spilling salsa all over his Dad's shorts at dinner.
- Getting to the theatre and realizing the movie was in 3D and you HAVE to wear the glasses or it's blurry!
- There is a minimum weight required to hold theatre seats down or kids get squeezed like a taco.
- Movie concession prices are outrageous!! Rude awakening for someone who has not been to the movies in years. (good thing for the free movie passes)

Beach Trip #1

For those not yet aware, Becca and the kids spent 2 weeks at 2 separate beaches this summer. However, someone did not get to join them on the second week because someone had to work to pay for these trips! Enjoy the slide show of selected pics from week #1.

Father's Day 20009

Father's Day 2009 was spent on the lake with my 3 awesome kids playing with the new tube Becca and her sisters got for thier dad. Also, notice the new watch in the first picture. It was my gift from the kids. (along with several other "special" items from the Target dollar spot!!) In the pictures you can see that Brinley and Elly braved the new tube with Daddy, but... Hayden was not so trusting and declined to leave the safety on the boat.

Playing in the Rain

There's nothing like "watching" soccer in the rain.

Goodbyes are so hard

Today is a sad day for the Pendergrass family, as our good family friends have moved to Georgia. Little more than 3 years after meeting the Thomas family, they had become very special people in our lives. We have spent many hours, days and weeks creating special memories that will be with us forever. We are sad that they are leaving us, but excited for them that they can be reunited with their dad as a complete family. Good Luck Thomas family and we'll see you soon!!!! (These are some of our final pics from today's soccer game)

Don't call it a come back, we've been here for years

Pender Pandemonium is back and online!! Be be prepared for the blogging blitz!! And what a better way to start than with a song dedicated to my new friend Anabel... Just close your eyes and sing along to the lyrics below Ms Anabel... (and make sure to tell your daddy)

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

It's a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?...

I've always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So, let's make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we're together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?
Won't you please,Won't you please?
Please won't you be my neighbor?

Mr. Mom

For those not yet aware... Becca has had the opportunity to return to a part-time Nursing position at the new hospital just 5 mins from the house!! This means a return to Mr. Mom duties for Bill, not experienced since Grad School little over 2 years ago. And by the way, there were only 2 kids around the last time Bill tried this... The following are highlights from Day 1...
5:30 AM Up and at it with a warm shower and warm cup of coffee to set the mood!
6:30 AM Brinley awake and ready for the day, and Bill is on to coffee cup number 2.
7:30 AM Remaining rascals now awake and demanding their Chocolate Milk, but we ain't got none! (1st minor problem for the day)
8:30 AM Everybody fed, 2 of 4 dressed and time for the 3rd cup of coffee
9:15 AM Elly's 45 minute tantrum over what clothes do and don't match is over and all kids are piled into the car for Hayden's MD appt. (2nd minor, well major problem resolved)
10:00 AM Hayden's appt is about to begin and the bribery has been set forth for good behavior.
10:20 AM Appt is over and a quick trip to Bill's work to drop off charts, and more bribery
11:00 AM Bribery offer is full filled with Icee's for the kids
12:30 PM Lunch is served and finished without incident
2:30 PM All kids asleep, including Bill!!!!!!!!!!!!
3:30 PM Hayden and Brinley awake early from nap and join Bill at the front door eagerly waiting for Mommy's return.
3:45 PM After what seems like too long of a drive (this has been discussed with Becca) she finally arrives home and EVERYONE is once again at peace!!

Following pics from the day...
Young Man likes to dress himself after pottying...
Notice the matching bow and outfit... Go Daddy!!
After 45 mins, the outfit was matching and weather appropriate.

O' Where, O' Where...

...has the Pendergrass Family gone????????

Well, the family (and chief blogger) have been very busy during the month of January. With so many balls juggling in the air, some had to be dropped temporarily! However we are back now, maybe not fully, but we are still here. The following are some highlights from the past month:

- we took ALL 3 kids to their first UT Basketball Game, they had a blast and keep asking when we get to go back for the food (and the game!)

- it actually snowed in East Tennessee, enough for the kids to sled (twice!!), several selected clips are below

- Bill began studying for his Board Certification in Spine Diagnosis and Treatment
**Hint-Hint this may be the biggest reason the blog has dropped off**

New Year, New Experiences

This is my first time blogging, so bear with me. My parents don't usually let me near the computer. Something about me banging the keys too hard and drooling on the keypad. However I did steal the computer to write this quick blog. I wanted to let my friends and family know about the "good stuff" my parents were with holding from me. See, the only finger food they have let me have up to this point is Puffs... I mean come on, can any real girl survive on Puffs alone? I tried to tell them by choking on the full pieces, 1/2 pieces, and 1/4 pieces that I was better than the Puffs, but they never listened so I kept spitting up all my food until they did clue in!! Well today was the day... I finally got my hands on the "good stuff," and I mean Cheerios!! And guess what? No choking! Of course my Mom was excited and Dad was freaked out about me choking. But don't worry about him, I overheard Mom telling him that they make Cheerios with a hole in them for a reason, and I would not choke!! I have downed them by the handfull all day. So if any of my little girlfriends (yeah no boyfirends, can't ever date says Dad) are reading this, hold out for the good stuff, don't settle for the mushy Puffs!!
