"Sleep Over" or just a "Stay Over"

We had the honor and joy of having our sweet friend Anabel spend the night with us last week. What we did not know (and what we think was purposefully left out) was Ms. Anabel had taken a nap, a very late afternoon nap. The following timeline and pictures pick up the evening after the sun went down and the girls got going!!
9:00 PM - Hannah Montana movie and popcorn
10:00 PM - Making beaded necklaces

11:00 PM - Dancing to Hannah Montana movie (again)

12:00 (Midnight) - Finally picking out books for bedtime!!
Note to self and lesson learned: Next time when your daughter wants a friend to spend the night, interrogate her parents in greater detail concerning her sleeping schedule for that day.

No Blood, No Foul.... Well.....

Elly, Hayden and I decided to have one of our nightly wrestling matches. Usually most matches end without any serious injuries however one night last week Elly was not so lucky. Here is a brief recap of the match.

After dominating his 2 small children for the majority of the match, Elly and Hayden finally got the upperhand by improvising with the use of a blanket. While working together, the 2 young wrestlers were able to over power their more powerful and experienced opponent and take him to the ground. Elly looped around from behind and wrapped her nemesis in a blanket enclosing his arms. Hayden with his, "War Cry" came screaming around the corner to drop his patented knee to the spleen jump kick. While their father was lying helpless prone and wrapped in a blanket, the Elly tackle and Hayden jumping knee kick ended just as quick with an inadvertent headbutt from Hayden to Elly's nose!! (ouch)

After checking for any injury that would require a co-pay, sorrow quickly turned to PRIDE. This was Elly's first, non-booger picking nose bleed. We just had to get a picture to document the event and to scare mommy with a quick text picture to her at work!! Everyone is ok, including Hayden's forehead, so feel free to look upon the picture with laughter not tears!!

Editor's Note: Ignore the empty pizza box in the background. We do, well sometimes do, eat healthier when mommy is not there!!

"No Girls Allowed"

"No Girls Allowed" was the theme and repeated often last Friday night as Hayden and I spent some time without the ladies. Allowing Hayden to pick the adventure, he chose dinner at Salsaritas and to go see Ice Age. The following are highlights of the evening:

- The evening began with someone spilling salsa all over his Dad's shorts at dinner.
- Getting to the theatre and realizing the movie was in 3D and you HAVE to wear the glasses or it's blurry!
- There is a minimum weight required to hold theatre seats down or kids get squeezed like a taco.
- Movie concession prices are outrageous!! Rude awakening for someone who has not been to the movies in years. (good thing for the free movie passes)
